5 Reasons to Apply for College Scholarships

shocked-graduateAttending college, technical or vocational school is an investment students make that benefits their community  As a credit union, we are invested in each other and to that end, we award four William Threlkheld scholarships each year to deserving members. The scholarship is named after the retired Division Chief of the Denver Police Department who passed away on 11/8/11.

RMLEFCU has identified 5 reasons why potential awardees should spend time this summer completing scholarship applications.

1) Not all scholarships are based on need, some are based on academics, personal achievements, characteristics, or unique talents.

Apply for the 8th Annual William Threlkeld Scholarship by July 31st.

8th Annual William Threlkeld Scholarship

If you’re a current college student or a high school student with plans to further your education at a college, technical or vocational school, AND you’re a RMLEFCU member with an active account in your own name, then it’s time to apply for the William Threlkeld Scholarship. Once again, we will reward four deserving members/students, based on academic performance (a 3.0 GPA or higher), community involvement, and the potential to succeed at the college level.

  3. Mail in the completed application – Include an essay and official transcript to:

The deadline is July 31st, 2014. Employees/volunteers of RMLEFCU and their family members are not eligible for the William Threlkeld Scholarship Program.
